SPOOKY BOYS SLS CAMERA

SLS stands for Structured Light Sensor. That is what it does. It projects a physical matrix of infrared light into real three dimensional space and maps everything inside it. If something is there, visible or not, the skeletal tracking finds it. Tags it. Draws a stick figure on it. Whatever is in that room that has a shape gets documented whether it wants to be or not.

This is not a free cellular telephone app. There are apps that claim to do what this camera does. They do not do what this camera does. They generate responses from algorithms that have no relationship to the physical environment. They produce output regardless of input. They are not instruments. The SLS camera is an instrument. It reads actual physical space and reports back what it finds there. The difference between those two things is the difference between evidence and entertainment and the Spooky Boys are not in the entertainment business.

The infrared mapping is what separates a real reading from a false positive. The matrix projects into the space. The sensor reads how the matrix is disrupted. A chair disrupts it. A curtain disrupts it. A person standing in the room disrupts it. The software knows what a chair looks like. It knows what a curtain looks like. What remains after that filtering process is worth paying attention to.

The Spooky Boys built this one. There are commercial versions of this technology. Modified Xbox Kinect sensors, tablet mounted systems, units available from paranormal equipment retailers. Those exist and some of them work adequately. This is not those versions. This was built for the specific field conditions the Spooky Boys investigate, calibrated for the specific environments we work in, and it has produced readings in those environments that the commercial versions did not produce when run simultaneously in the same room. That comparison has been made. The results are in the logs.

Point it at a dark room. Watch the corners. The corners are where things stand when they are not ready to be seen yet.
